Support Ms. Wilber’s Classroom
“I teach high school Special Education, English, and a class about zombie movies at an alternative transfer school in New York City. My students are 16-21 and have attended at least one other high school before they found us. As one student described it, it is a “refugee camp for people traumatized by high school.” I hope to help them recover from that experience and graduate from high school. For the last three years, I have taken 40 students on an outdoor trip to Upstate New York, where students see stars for the first time, work together, and bond in a way they never have before. The only problem is they cannot afford this trip on their own. If you’d like to support an amazing experience for at-risk teens, please donate to my page and don’t forget to use the matching code 100WOMEN to have your donation matched now until March 17th. Thanks for your help!” – Ms. Wilber
