Are you a NYC teacher who might be having a bad day Do you need a little pick me up Nowthere is an app for that!
I left the environmental field and took on the arduous and noble task of educating the youth of this great city. I took my background, out of the box thinking and tech expertise and augmented the education at my school. The site I owned and created was praised my the State Quality Review, our robotics team came in first in NYC and an article was published about how I teach. It worked out well until I raised a few concerns and issues. Four days later20 or so investigations were started on me in an effort to silence me. It didn’t work. Unfortunately I haven’t stepped foot in my STEM Lab in over 330 days and the students have suffered greatly. I haven’t been found guilty of anything and under investigation for over 424 days. You can’t bleed a rock. I continue to use my out of the box thinking and students continue to learn from my other site www.mrportelos.com.

I started learning how to create Android apps in an effort to help teachers and students even though I can’t be in front of the classroom. I create my first one yesterday. Once I got the hang of it, it was pretty easy. This is my first app. It’s simple, but it can come in handy during a really, really bad day in a NYC school. I have many more planned including fun math and ELA.
